It makes me so sad when women in their precious midlife years spend so much time and energy trying to have a different body… usually a smaller one.

This usually means that they don’t find pleasure with food because diet culture has created all sorts of rules leading women to not trust their own choices, or listen to their own body for what it needs and wants.

Your relationship with food is a constant in your life and, when this primary relationship is a daily struggle, it is impossible to be truly happy and present in your life.

Then there’s menopause! It is a different season of life, and as with all seasons, things are meant to change, which can be hard to accept sometimes. It can make this relationship even more strained.
